This handwoven bag was made with the plant fibre chaguar, a type of bromeliad that grows in South America. It's a resistant and durable fibre.
To obtain this material Wichi women first travel into the forest in small groups to harvest the chaguar, they then separate its fibres by hand. After they separate the fibre they spin, dye it with natural extracts -from roots, seeds and fruits- and knit it.
All our chaguar bags and baskets have come from a remote area in Argentina - which is the semi-arid Chaco region - and are handcrafted in a traditional way.
By owning one of these pieces, not only do you get the chance to appreciate the effort, story and culture behind it, but you also are supporting these communities and purchasing a sustainable product.

Love love love these cushions. Gorgeous warmth and character and great quality
Absolutely stunning
Excellent quality, they feel like a very special piece adding warmth and character to the home
These sweeties arrived very quickly, and are really lovely. I'm very happy with them. There was some rain in my city and the packaging wasn't great for this, so the tissue they were wrapped in was wet, which is a bit of a shame; I would have liked to give this as a gift with the logo ( just a small issue for the makers to think about from now on.) Please do not let this turn you off purchasing these little booties, they are very sweet and very hand made. I would love them for any baby and great as a gift. xox
…no review as my cardigan still hasn’t arrived! Aust. Post yet another slow show
